You have many choices of places to stay when vacationing. Hotels, resorts, motels, rental homes and campgrounds are a few of your choices.

When choosing a hotel also check what’s around it. Is it close to stores and restaurants? You don’t want to spend an hour in a strange town looking for a place to eat dinner. Is the hotel near the highway or out in the middle of nowhere? Are the rooms clean? How’s the staff? Check out www.tripadvisor.com before you book the hotel to see how others liked it. Do you want a quiet room? Ask to stay in an end room near the top floor. When you book the room, call the hotel directly and ask the front desk if there are any large parties booked the nights you are staying like a wedding or class reunion.  You can avoid being kept up all night by loud guests.

For a lot of people once they stay in a vacation rental home they never want to stay in a hotel again. Yes you don’t have the daily maid service and fresh towels everyday but it’s like your home away from home and in most cases even better because some may have amenities you may not have in your own home like big screen TV’s, in ground pools, pool tables, etc.. Check it out the next time you go on vacation. www.vrbo.com There are so many to choose from especially near the top tourists destinations.
